My name is Gary Malkin. I am 46 years old, married to my wife Chrisha. I currently am self-employed as a Gunsmith and finish Woodworker for the past 4 years. I am a retired Sergeant First Class from the U.S. Military (Army) with 23 years of active duty service as of February 2014. I live in Fayetteville NC pursuing my fishing career and lifelong dream.
I have learned in the military that you can’t take anything lightly. By this I mean, your drive in finishing the mission and finishing it on top. Whether the mission is big or small long or short, you finish it and finish it on top. I have taken this philosophy to what I feel is a whole new extreme in fishing. My goal in life is to win the BassMasters Classic and the FLW tour Championship, along with angler of the year in both. I believe I have the drive, willingness, dedication and complete commitment to be number ONE. With the right amount of time on the water and right equipment, I will achieve my goal.
My military background and experience has afforded me the opportunity to talk to a diverse military and civilian population about different products that I uses while I am fish. For example, FishStyx Rods, TRC Covers, Jewel Bait and Amphibia Sunglass are my sponsors. People see me using these products and it forms an impression with them. I can reach a large amount of untapped resources by endorsing the products I trust in to people I imprint while fishing
I have been associated with both professional and amateur competitions which are listed in my attached resume. My equipment includes a 2004 TR196 powered by a 200 Mercury engine and is transported by a 2017 Toyota Tundra.
In closing, I feel that I have a lot to learn as well as a lot to offer. I like talking to people in both small and large crowds. I feel that once I put my mind to something that I have the training, experience, willingness, dedication and drive to get anything accomplished. I will use this to achieve my goal in life and I would encourage you to come along for want will be an exciting ride.
I was born and raised in St. Pete Florida. I grew up fishing in the Gulf and lakes in Florida. But I made a move to Kentucky where I have lived most of my life fishing creeks, ponds, rivers, and lakes. I also found a love for hunting and love it all.
After high school I went on to receive a two year degree in Industrial Maintenance from WKU Technical College in Bowling Green. I have worked in the trades for more than 30 years and I am currently a Engineering Technician for a automotive factory.
I have been married to my beautiful wife for almost 23 years and have three wonderful daughters.
I have coached a high school bowling team for seven years. And my oldest daughter is now bowling at the collegiate level.
I have been with TRC Covers from pretty much the start. I started out as a Sales Rep. and on to the Pro Staff. I was promoted to the East Region Manager and now serve as the Regional Director.
Over the years I have competed in several Bass tournaments local and regional. I have had great success in them and look forward to advancing on to the next level.
My name is Austin Klotz and I have been apart of TRCovers for five years. I am an avid angler that enjoys competing in local, collegiate and semi-professional circuits. I have competed in several FLW regional tournaments and two national level tournaments. I enjoy fishing as much as I possibly can and have been blessed to live only 25 minutes away from St. Clair which makes it difficult to fish anywhere else. I am pursuing my captain’s training to become a guide on St. Clair. My passion is allowing others to enjoy fishing like I do. There is nothing like watching a less experienced angler bring in a fish of a lifetime. Once I earn the captain’s license I would like to eventually become a full-time guide which will allow me to create many lifelong memories for myself and others.
I grew up in the country, riding my bicycle to fish local farm ponds until I could drive, then expanded to local reservoirs and lakes fishing from shore. Like many people life happens and work and other life events slowed fishing for a bit but through hard work and dedication doors started opening. A good career opportunity came my way as a 911 dispatcher, which provided me the blessed opportunity to be able to buy new boat and be able to get out to bigger lakes and start fishing tournaments when I can. I have always loved talking to people about fishing and through certain events, promotional opportunities with different companies presented themselves and here I am.
